Today’s sellout crowd at CONSOL Energy Center means the Penguins have sold out every home game for five straight seasons.
The overall sellout streak, counting playoffs, is now at 251 games – dating back to Feb. 14, 2007.
The Penguins have sold out every game of the 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons.
Before the current streak, the Penguins had never sold out every home game in a season – not even during the Stanley Cup years of 1991 and 1992.
“We salute our fans and thank you for your amazing support,” said David Morehouse, CEO and President of the Penguins. “The continued passion and commitment to Penguins hockey displayed by our fans is an inspiration to our players and our entire organization. Penguins fans have established Pittsburgh as one of the preeminent hockey cities in the United States.”
