Tonight’s sellout crowd at CONSOL Energy Center gives the Penguins the distinction of having sold out every regular season home game for the fourth straight season.
The overall sellout streak, counting playoffs, is now at 206 games – dating back to Feb. 14, 2007.
The Penguins have sold out every game of the 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, and 2010-11 seasons.
Before the current streak, the Penguins had never sold out every home game in a season – not even during the Stanley Cup years of 1991 and 1992.
“This gives us another great opportunity to salute our fans, and to thank you for your continued support,” said David Morehouse, CEO and President of the Penguins. “Your continued passion and commitment to Penguins hockey is an inspiration to our players, coaches, management and staff, and you have established Pittsburgh as one of the preeminent hockey cities in the United States.”
