Pens Reduce Roster To 42 Players

The Pittsburgh Penguins have reduced their training camp roster to 42 players, it was announced today by Executive Vice President and General Manager Ray Shero.

Six players have been assigned to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, the American Hockey League (AHL) affiliate of the Pittsburgh Penguins.  The six players include forwards Luca Caputi, Joe Haddad, Dustin Jeffrey, Nick Johnson and Mark Letestu along with defenseman Jonathan D’Aversa.

The Penguins have re-assigned Alex Grant and Keven Veilleux to the St. John’s Sea Dogs and Rimouski Oceanic, their respective clubs of the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League (QMJHL) and Casey Pierro-Zabotel to Vancouver Giants of the Western Hockey League (WHL).

The Penguins have 24 forwards, 14 defensemen and four goaltenders, for a total of 42 players remaining at training camp.  Click for an updated training camp roster.
