Ron Porter, senior consultant for the Pittsburgh Penguins, was named one of Pittsburgh’s 50 Men of Excellence by the New Pittsburgh Courier last week.
Porter has worked with the Penguins on the new arena project – specifically in assisting with the Community Benefits Agreement and interaction with the Hill District community.
“I’m honored to have been selected as one of the Men of Excellence by the Pittsburgh Courier,” Porter said. “I’m glad to have played a part in establishing a solid relationship between the Pittsburgh Penguins and the Hill District community. The successful negotiation of the Community Benefits Agreement is a milestone that signals high levels of collaboration between our organization and the community, and that bodes well for the long-term future.”
“We’d like to congratulate Ron for this well-deserved honor,” said Penguins president David Morehouse. “His assistance and guidance have been invaluable during one of the most important periods in the history of the Penguins franchise.”
