Pens Elite Youth Teams in Labor Day Tourneys

Two teams representing the new Pittsburgh Penguins Elite amateur hockey program will skate in prestigious national youth tournaments over the Labor Day weekend.

The Penguins Elite boys midget major team (ages 16-18) will play in the Labor Day Faceoff in Boston from Friday to Monday.

The Penguins Elite girls under-19 team will take part in the North American Hockey Academy Labor Day Showcase in Stowe, Vermont from Friday to Sunday.

This is the first year for Pittsburgh Penguins Elite, an exciting new amateur program created by the Penguins and Dick’s Sporting Goods. It will feature 13 teams playing at the AAA level – eight boys teams and five girls teams.

Among other highlights this season, all five girls teams will play in the Pittsburgh Girls Thanksgiving Classic, presented by Dick’s Sporting Goods

The boys midget major, midget minor (15-16) and bantam major (14) teams also will host the USAH Nationals at the end of the season at RMU Island Sports Center.
