1982 - 3rd round - 52nd overall
Troy Loney was drafted by the Penguins in the third round (52nd overall) of the 1982 NHL Draft after three seasons with the Lethbridge Broncos of the Western Hockey League. In his 10 seasons with the Pens, the gritty left-winger tallied double-digit goals four times, while also amassing a career-high 168 penalty minutes during the 1989-90 season.
A physical net-front presence, Loney was also a contributor during the Penguins’ back-to-back Stanley Cups championships in 1991 and ‘92. He would go on to score 197 points (87G-110A) and accumulate 1,091 PIMs over 624 games with Pittsburgh.
