The Pittsburgh Penguins will donate 5,000 tickets to the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League (PAHL) for their Sept. 25 preseason game against the Columbus Blue Jackets at CONSOL Energy Center.
The goal of the game, known as the “Ultimate Home Game,” is to fill the arena with students and youth hockey players – all of whom will get free tickets.
The various local hockey associations in the PAHL will then distribute the tickets to their member teams.
“The youth hockey connection is a very important part of this game,” said David Morehouse, CEO of the Penguins, “and we look forward to seeing thousands of our young hockey players in the stands that night, wearing their jerseys and cheering on the Penguins.”
“We want to thank the Penguins for their support of youth hockey, and for reaching out to the PAHL and including our players in this very special event,” said Darcee Purvis, president of the PAHL. “We know our kids are going to be excited to watch an NHL preseason game, and many of them will be experiencing CONSOL Energy Center for the first time.”
The Penguins also will distribute tickets to members of the Pens’ Kids Club and to the Tickets For Kids Foundation.
Additionally, college undergraduates may sign up for the chance to win tickets to the Sept. 25 game at www.imaginepittsburgh.com
. More than 8,000 tickets will be distributed through the site, which has a goal of promoting job opportunities in the Pittsburgh region and keeping our young talent here.
