Pens-Canadiens Preview (Preseason Game 5)

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins

PITTSBURGH PENGUINS at MONTREAL CANADIENS (QUEBEC CITY)

GAME INFO: Preseason Game 5
Where: Videotron Centre
When: Monday, 7 p.m.
TV: None
Radio: 105.9 the X
(Tonight’s game between the Penguins and Canadiens is radio only back in Pittsburgh. It can be heard on the team’s official flagship station, 105.9 The X, with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton play-by-play man Mike O’Brien and Penguins color commentator Phil Bourque calling the action).

Key Players: Marc-Andre Fleury, Nick Bonino, Beau Bennett, Pascal Dupuis, Kris Letang, David Perron, Derrick Pouliot and Sergei Gonchar for the Pens. Carey Price, Alex Galchenyuk, Tomas Plekanec and PK Subban for Montreal.

What to Watch For: This will be the the first-ever professional hockey game played at the Videotron Centre in Quebec City, which officially opened earlier this month. And it will be a special night for the Pens' Quebec natives in the lineup (Dupuis, Fleury, Letang, Perron and prospects Jean-Sebastien Dea and Daniel Sprong). It should be an electric atmosphere with the rabid fanbase in Quebec. It won't be a typical preseason game. The question is, will the fans side with their fellow Quebec team in Montreal? Or will the old Nordiques-Canadiens rivalry make the fans side with the Pens? Either way, it'll be an intense and fun contest.
