The Pittsburgh Penguins-New York Rangers game on Sunday, Jan. 18 at Mellon Arena will be televised nationally by NBC, it was announced today by the National Hockey League. The game will start at 12:30 p.m.
The Penguins are eligible to have up to three more games selected by NBC during the second half of the season. Those games (all on Sundays) will be announced at a later date via the NHL’s “flex-scheduling” arrangement with NBC.
The NHL also announced that Versus has selected seven Penguins games for exclusive national broadcasts. They are:

All other Penguins games will be televised locally by FSN Pittsburgh – including the two season-opening games vs. Ottawa in Stockholm, Sweden on Oct. 4 and 5.
(Please note that Versus has selected an additional Penguins game for “non-exclusive” broadcasts – meaning that FSN Pittsburgh will carry this game locally and Versus will broadcast it to the rest of the nation. It is: Sunday, Oct. 5 vs. Ottawa from Stockholm at 2:30 p.m.)The NHL also announced changes in starting times for two Penguins home games. The Nov. 6 game vs. Edmonton will start at 7 p.m. (instead of 7:30), and the Nov. 22 game vs. Vancouver will start at 2 p.m. (instead of 1 p.m.).
