The Pittsburgh Penguins return home Wednesday to take on the Tampa Bay Lightning at 7:30 p.m. at Mellon Arena.

All fans in attendance will receive a special Mario Lemieux career highlights coin. For tickets call 1-800-642-PENS or 412-642-PENS or visit

The game marks the first for the Penguins at Mellon Arena since Oct. 24. The Penguins picked five of eight possible points on their season-long, four-game roadtrip to Philadelphia, Los Angeles, San Jose and Anaheim.

The Penguins play three of their next four games at home, starting with Wednesday’s contest. Ottawa visits Mellon Arena on Friday and all fans 14-under will receive a Trib Total Media Penguins youth practice shirt. After a visit to Carolina on Saturday, the Penguins return home Monday to battle the Flyers.

Against Anaheim on Monday, the Penguins had a special look to their lineup. It marked the first time seven first-round Penguins picks skated together at once for the team: Brooks Orpik (2000), Colby Armstrong (2001), Ryan Whitney (2002), Marc-Andre Fleury (2003), Evgeni Malkin (2004), Sidney Crosby (2005) and Jordan Staal (2006).

Fleury will get the start in goal as the Penguins look to rebound from Monday’s overtime loss to the Ducks.

“We’re going to have to play a lot better than we did last game, there’s no question about that,” Penguins coach Michel Therrien said. “We have to work hard, concentrate and play solid defensively. If we’re not going to be solid defensively, there’s a line with [Vincent] Lecavalier and [Martin] St. Louis that will kill you. The focus needs to be there. It’s going to be a tough game to play because we all know when you come back from a long roadtrip, sometimes the focus isn’t there. It is still early in the season, but this game will tell me a lot about the maturity of our team.

“It’s going to be a good test for our young team.”
