by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins hit the road Friday to take on the New York Islanders at 7 p.m.

FSN Pittsburgh will televise the contest at 7 p.m., while 3WS (94.5 FM) will start its radio broadcast with a pregame show at 6:30 p.m. The broadcast may be found live through streaming audio on pittsburghpenguins.com as well. It is the second time in a week the Penguins and Islanders meet. Pittsburgh posted a 4-3 win in overtime last Friday as Sidney Crosby ripped a shot past RickDiPietro. It was the fourth-straight meeting between the two squads to go to overtime this season. Prior to last Friday’s contest, the Islanders won three-straight encounters in a shootout.

After Friday’s game, the Penguins return to Pittsburgh on Sunday to take on the New Jersey Devils at 3 p.m. The Penguins then embark on a four-game road trip. In fact, seven of the team’s last 10 games are on the road, including six in April.

Defenseman Sergei Gonchar is riding a three-game point streak heading into Friday’s game. He has one goal and four assists in his last three games. Andy Hilbert has two goals and an assist in his last three contests as well.
