The game marks the second roadtrip of the young season for the Penguins (2-3), who defeated the Rangers, 6-5, in New York exactly one week ago.

The Penguins are looking to rebound from a 2-1 home loss to New Jersey on Wednesday night. Penguins rookie Evgeni Malkin made his NHL debut against the Devils and tallied his first goal in the contest.

Pittsburgh hopes to open up its offense against the Islanders. After scoring six times against the Rangers, the Penguins have been limited to one goal in both contests since – both losses.

Thursday’s game marks the second in a stretch of three games in four days for the Penguins, who return home to Mellon Arena to take on the Columbus Blue Jackets at 7:30 p.m. Fans not in attendance for Saturday’s game can watch it televised locally on CW (formerly UPN).
