The Pittsburgh Penguins will host a prospect development camp from July 1-3 at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex in Cranberry.

Thirty-two prospects will convene for the three-day camp which features on-ice sessions each day. A full camp roster, which is made up of 18 forwards, ten defenseman, and four goaltenders is attached here.

Pittsburgh's 2022 first-round draft pick Owen Pickering (21st overall) will be returning for his second development camp. The Swift Current Broncos captain led all team defensemen with 45 points (9G-36A) in 61 games in 2022-23, then went on to make his professional debut with the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins, skating in eight games. Also returning for their second development camp are fellow Penguins 2022 draft picks forwards Zam Plante (5th round, 150th overall) and Luke Devlin (6th round, 182nd overall), as well as defenseman Nolan Collins (6th round, 167th overall).

Mars, Pennsylvania native Carter Schade, who will be entering his sophomore season at Penn State University in 2023-24, will be attending development camp. Schade played for Pittsburgh Penguins Elite until he began playing in the United States Hockey League in 2020.

In addition to Schade, six other free agents are also attending prospect development camp - forwards Jagger Joshua, Brayden Schuurman and Evan Vierling, as well as defenseman Justin Lee and goaltenders Owen Flores and Michael Simpson.

Development camp kicks off on Saturday, July 1 with goalie and skater on-ice sessions at 1:00 PM, followed by practice at 1:45 PM. Sunday's schedule includes a goalie on-ice session at 10:30 AM, followed by a skills session at 11:00 AM and a split squad practice at 12:00 PM.

Pittsburgh's prospect development camp concludes on Monday, July 3 with a tournament beginning at 12:00 PM.

All practices, including the tournament, are open to the public and free of charge.

As in previous years, the Penguins' development camp will feature a variety of off-ice presentations and activities focused on helping players transition to becoming a professional athlete.
