Penguins to Hold Annual "Toys for Tots" Toy Drive with U.S. Marines Thursday and Saturday at Mellon Arena

PITTSBURGH – The Pittsburgh Penguins and their fans will team up to make the holiday season brighter for many local children as the team holds its annual toy drive at two home games this week – Thursday, Dec. 3 vs. Colorado and Saturday, Dec. 5 vs. Chicago at Mellon Arena.
Every fan who brings an unopened new toy to the game or makes a cash donation will be eligible to win Penguins’ autographed memorabilia including a grand prize autographed jersey at each game.
All toys and cash donations collected will be donated to the U.S. Marine Corps’ “Toys for Tots” Program for distribution to underprivileged families in the Pittsburgh area.
Members of the Penguins Wives Association will join Marines at each gate for the collection. Donations will be taken at Mellon Arena Gates 1, 3 and 10 and run through the first 10 minutes of the first period. Gates open at 6:30 pm.
This is the 17th year the Penguins have conducted a toy drive. Penguins’ annual toy drives have collected over 15,460 toys and $37,680 in donations since 1992.
