The Stanley Cup champion Pittsburgh Penguins will have eight games televised nationally by Versus during the 2009-10 season, the NHL announced today.
Eight is the maximum amount of times any team may appear on Versus. Detroit, Chicago, the New York Rangers and Philadelphia also will appear eight times.

The Penguins also may appear on NBC a maximum of four times between January and April. The NHL and NBC will again collaborate on flexible scheduling. Thirteen days prior to the scheduled game, a game will be selected for broadcast on NBC. All NBC “Game of the Week” broadcast will be on Sundays.
FSN Pittsburgh, the Penguins’ broadcast partner, will televise all Penguins games that are not carried by either Versus or NBC. FSN will televise a minimum of 70 Penguins games this season.
