Pens 4th round pick in 2002 Entry Draft under contract

PITTSBURGH - The Penguins have signed their fourth round pick in the 2002 Entry Draft, defenseman Daniel Fernholm, it was announced today by General Manager Craig Patrick.  In accordance with club policy, terms of the contract were not released.

Fernholm, 21, recorded five points (3+2) and 22 penalty minutes in 31 games during the 2004-05 season for Djurgardens in the Swedish league.  He also appeared in seven games for Bolzano HC in the Italian league, tallying two assists and two penalty minutes.

The 6-4 and 218 pound native of Stockholm, Sweden was the 101st overall selection by the Penguins in 2002.
