The Pittsburgh Penguins have sold out all 66 suites for the inaugural season of the Consol Energy Center in 2010-11, the team announced today.
The Penguins also have sold out all 32 loge boxes – a new premium product that is being introduced in the new arena.
Accordingly, the team has established a waiting list for suites and loge boxes– similar to the popular season ticket waiting list.
“To sell out all almost 100 suites and loge boxes with more than a year to go before opening the Consol Energy Center is remarkable,” team president David Morehouse said. “It says a lot about the future of Penguins hockey, and it helps ensure that we’ll be able to continue to spend at the NHL salary cap and put a strong team on the ice, year after year
The Penguins have sold out 118 straight games. They sold out all suites at Mellon Arena for the past two seasons.
All Mellon Arena suites again are sold for the 2009-10 season. The Penguins cut off season ticket sales at 14,000 to ensure that more fans will be able to attend games with mini-plans and individual game tickets. Mini-plans will go on Sept. 2, exclusively to members of the season ticket waiting list. Individual game tickets will go on sale Sept. 12.
