TRIB TOTAL MEDIA PLAYOFF UPDATE
Here's a recap of the day's news in the Trib Total Media Playoff Update.
ISLANDERS ROUND UP
Evgeni Nabokov took a nasty shot to the helmet from Jarome Iginla in the first period of Game 1. The shot literally took a chunk out of his helmet. Luckily, he's feeling OK and he had a backup helmet.
John Tavares also spoke with the media...
THEY SAID IT...

NEAL NON-UPDATE UPDATE
Head coach Dan Bylsma declines to give an update on James Neal.
JOKINEN OK, READY FOR GAME 2
Jokinen left in the third period of the Pens' 5-0 Game 1 victory after colliding with Reasoner in the neutral zone. He spoke with the media about his health...
On if he had any problems out there:
I felt all right.
On if he was concerned last night that he might have asignificant injury:
Yeah, obviously, those kinds of hits, lots of times you (lose) seasons, so those are dangerous hits and you could get hurt bad. But it’s part of the game and I’m lucky that I’m okay.
On the hit itself and if there’s any punishment that should come out of it:
Not really. It’s not my job. It’s somebody else’s job.
On if he’s dealing with any stiffness/soreness today:
I’m all right. I think if you want to ask about injuries you have to ask the coach, so I’m all right. I’m ready to go tomorrow.
On if he’s ready to play on any line depending on Crosby/Neal:
Yeah, obviously the lineup is probably going to be a game-time decision tomorrow and we’ll see who we’re going to go with tomorrow. Whatever my role, my linemates, I’m going to do everything I can to help this team to win.
On how he felt about the game before he got hurt:
Obviously felt really good. My first playoff game in probably maybe four years and my first one here. The crowd was really great. We got off to a good start and then played a pretty solid game. It’s just one game and we need to get back at it tomorrow.
There is no change in Crosby's status. He still hasn't been cleared to play by the doctors and there are no doctor visits planned at this time, but they are in constant communication.

Crosby did some work on the Pens' top power-play unit. Jokinen took first couple shifts and then Crosby took over from there. The power-play units were as follows:
1st unit: Letang and Iginla on points, Malkin, Kunitz and Crosby/Jokinen down low.
2nd unit: Niskanen and Martin on points, Bennett, Morrow and Kennedy down low.
Note: Martin and Letang flipped spots and worked with both units.
The Pens are on the ice practicing. Only James Neal was absent. Paul Martin missed the early portion of practice (so he did not skate in rushes). Sidney Crosby skated with his former linesmates Chris Kunitz and Pascal Dupuis. Here were the rushes...
