START THE DAY
Good morning hockey fans. Tonight the Pens host the struggling Minnesota Wild on Evgeni Malkin bobblehead night. Here are some game notes to get you ready for the action.
  • The Penguins complete the season series against the Minnesota Wild (TV: ROOT SPORTS; Radio: 105.9 the X) at CONSOL Energy Center.
  • The Penguins are hoping to end a two-game home winless stretch (0-1-1). Pittsburgh has had just three previous instances where it has gone three or more home games without a win in 169 overall contests at CONSOL Energy Center.
  • Pittsburgh is 7-2 this season against the Western Conference. The Penguins’ .778 points percentage in such games is the highest among Eastern Conference teams.
  • The Penguins have won three of their last four games against the Wild.
  • Pittsburgh is looking to sweep a season series against the Wild for the first time in the history of the series (min: 2 games).
  • The Penguins will wear their Pittsburgh gold third jerseys tonight. They are 4-1-1 in the new sweaters thus far.
