Penguins Report: Cooke Returns

by Sam Kasan / Pittsburgh Penguins
Matt Cooke will be in the lineup Saturday night against the New York Rangers after being scratched the previous four games due to a rib injury.

Cooke injured his ribs against the Philadelphia Flyers on Oct. 14 and missed practice for a week. He returned to practice on Tuesday and will suit up for Pittsburgh for the first time in 10 days.

Cooke’s return will shuffle the Penguins fourth line. He will most likely skate with Mike Zigomanis and Eric Godard.

Hal Gill did not participate in practice with the rest of the team, but he did skate and do drills for the second consecutive day with strength and conditioning coach Mike Kadar. He will be a game-time decision for the Rangers game.

Jennifer Bullano contributed to this report.
