The Pittsburgh Penguins and Pittsburgh Commercial Construction (PittComm) are teaming up to provide up to $100,000 in goods and services to renovate a portion of a local community hockey rink this season - in a new contest called "Renovate the Rink."
From now until November 30, fans can nominate a community rink in Western Pennsylvania that deserves a renovation.
Finalists will be selected by January 31 and public online voting will take place between February 1 and February 21.
Those submitting nominations will be asked to answer three questions:
- What makes your rink so important to your community?
- What rink renovation (excluding ice renovation) do you think your rink should use the $100,000 renovation budget towards (Example; upgrade the locker room or bleachers)… and how would the renovation benefit your community?
- Why should your rink be chosen as the winner of the contest?
