The Pittsburgh Penguins have reduced their training camp roster to 49 players, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Nine players have been assigned to Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League: defensemen Barry Goers, Michael Webster and Ryan Segalla; and forwards Tom Kostopoulos, Milos Bubela, Gage Quinney, Jarrett Burton, Christian Hilbrich and Reid Gardiner.

Pittsburgh plays its first home preseason game on Friday, September 30 against the Chicago Blackhawks at 7 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center.
Fans can watch the game on Pittsburgh's CW or listen to the radio broadcast on the team's official radio flagship, 105.9 'The X'.
Pittsburgh earned its first preseason win on Wednesday night in Chicago, 2-0, behind a pair of goals from Chris Kunitz and a 30-save shutout by Tristan Jarry.
The Penguins are 1-1 thus far during the preseason.
