by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Scott Wilson from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Wilson, 23, saw his first NHL action of the 2015-16 regular season in Pittsburgh’s 5-2 defeat of Columbus in the final game before the holiday break. Wilson earned his first NHL point when he assisted Phil Kessel’s first goal of the game.

The 5-foot-11, 183-pound Wilson is tied for the AHL goal-scoring lead with 15 this year. He is the third-leading scorer on WBS with 24 points (15G-9A) in 25 contests.

The Penguins return to action tonight against the Minnesota Wild at 8 p.m. You can watch locally on ROOT Sports or listen on the team’s official radio flagship, 105.9 The X.
