The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled defenseman Steve Oleksy from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.

Oleksy, 30, has 11 points (1G-10A), is plus-13 and has amassed 78 penalty minutes in 45 AHL contests with WBS.

The Penguins visit the Washington Capitals tonight at 7:30 p.m. at the Verizon Center. The game will be nationally televised on NBC Sports Network, and it can also be heard on the Penguins’ official radio flagship, 105.9 The X.

This is a makeup game for the Jan. 24 contest that was cancelled due to a winter storm that hit the Washington, D.C. region.
