The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Megna, 24, had a goal and an assist last night for the WBS Penguins in a 5-1 win at Albany. During the month of November, Megna has seven goals and nine points in eight contests for WBS.
Overall this season, the Ft. Lauderdale, Florida native leads the first-place WBS Penguins with nine goals and ranks second with 12 points in 17 games.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Megna played in 36 NHL regular-season games with Pittsburgh last season, tallying five goals, four assists and nine points. He also suited up for two postseason contests.
