The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Jayson Megna from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Megna, 24, has skated in 24 NHL games this season, tallying four goals, three assists, seven points and a plus-2. He recorded his first NHL points with a goal and an assist against the Carolina Hurricanes on Oct. 28.
The 6-foot-1, 195-pound Megna has appeared in 22 AHL games with WBS this year, where he has produced 14 points (9G-5A). Megna leads all WBS forwards with a plus-13 and his two shorthanded goals rank second on the squad.
Signed by the Penguins as an undrafted free agent on August 1, 2012, Megna has skated in 78 AHL regular-season contests, notching 14 goals, 12 assists and 26 points. He added five points (2G-3A) in 12 playoff games last spring.
