The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Dustin Jeffrey from his conditioning assignment with Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Jeffrey, 23, played two games for WBS last week, collecting one assist and three shots on goal.
The 6-foot-1, 205-pound Jeffrey has appeared in six games this season for Pittsburgh, going scoreless while averaging 9:17 minutes per game. Jeffrey, who hails from Sarnia, ON, missed the first eight games of the regular season rehabbing from a knee injury suffered in March of last season.
Jeffrey, who was originally drafted by the Penguins in the sixth round (171st overall) of the 2007 NHL Draft, has played in 46 career NHL games for Pittsburgh, scoring eight goals and 15 points.
