The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Dustin Jeffrey from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of American Hockey League, it was announced by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Jeffrey, 22, has appeared in three games with Pittsburgh this season. He recorded his first career two-point game with a goal and an assist Dec. 11 at Buffalo.
Jeffrey (6-foot-1, 205 pounds) ranks seventh in the AHL in scoring with 37 points through 35 games. He is also tied for the league lead in shorthanded goals with five, while ranking eighth (tied) in shots with 126.
Jeffrey, Pittsburgh’s sixth-round pick (171st overall) in the 2007 Entry Draft, currently paces WBS in assists (22), points (37), shorthanded goals (5) and shots (126).
