The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Chuck Kobasew from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League (AHL), it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Ray Shero.
Kobasew, 31, has played in 11 games with WBS, scoring 10 goals and 11 points, including a pair of goals in Friday night’s 3-2 shootout win against Syracuse. He had goals in each of his first six games with WBS.
Kobasew has skated in 32 NHL games with Pittsburgh this season, scoring a pair of goals while posting a plus-1. He played in his 600th NHL game against the Nashville Predators on March 4.
The veteran forward has played in 600 regular-season games for Calgary, Boston, Minnesota, Colorado and Pittsburgh, tallying 110 goals, 100 assists and 210 points. Kobasew has eight points (4G-4A) in 44 career playoff contests.
