The Pittsburgh Penguins have recalled forward Conor Sheary from Wilkes-Barre/Scranton of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Sheary, 23, made his NHL debut with Pittsburgh in December, tallying two points (1G-1A) in 10 games. His first NHL goal came Dec. 18 against his hometown Bruins off a Sidney Crosby assist.
The Winchester, Massachusetts native is the WBS Penguins' leading scorer with 33 points (7G-26A) in 28 games. Sheary is tied for fifth in the AHL scoring race.
Sheary returns to Pittsburgh riding a seven-game AHL scoring streak, and his 26 assists lead the league.
