The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Adam Johnson to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by executive vice president and general manager Jim Rutherford.
Johnson, 24, played his first six NHL games with the Penguins during his first stint in Pittsburgh, collecting two assists and finishing plus-2. Both helpers came during the Penguins' key 3-1 win on March 31 against the Carolina Hurricanes.
Tomorrow night the Penguins wrap up the 2018-19 regular season by hosting the New York Rangers at 7:00 PM at PPG Paints Arena for Fan Appreciation Night. Following Saturday night's game, the Penguins will give the "Shirts Off Our Backs" to 23 lucky fans. On Thursday night, the Penguins defeated the Detroit Red Wings, 4-1, to clinch their 13th-straight playoff berth, the NHL's longest-active postseason streak.
