The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forward Josh Currie to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins of the American Hockey League, it was announced today by general manager Ron Hextall.

Currie, 28, appeared in one game with Pittsburgh this season on March 2 against Philadelphia. In 21 career NHL games split between the Penguins and Edmonton Oilers, he has tallied two goals, three assists for five points and is a plus-2. As captain of WBS this year, the 5-foot-10, 172-pound Currie has notched three goals, one assist and four points in four games.
Pittsburgh hits the road for a brief two-game stop in Buffalo to take on the Sabres at KeyBank Center. Puck drop for the Thursday, March 11 contest is at 7:00 p.m.
