As part of the Pittsburgh Penguins’ continued commitment to local amateur hockey, the Penguins have provided free “FlexxCoach” software to amateur and high school coaches in the Pittsburgh area.
The FlexxCoach software program is an interactive tool that allows coaches to access a vast database of drills, helping them to plan practice sessions and maximize practice time.
More than 300 local coaches received the software last week, along with a letter from Penguins CEO David Morehouse.
“The Pittsburgh Penguins are youth hockey’s biggest fan!” said Darcee Purvis, executive director of the Pittsburgh Amateur Hockey League (PAHL). “They are once again providing support for our youth hockey member associations by contracting and covering the cost of a valuable coaching tool in FlexxCoach. This online product enables our PAHL coaches access to state-of-the-art planning, design and communication for practice and game sessions. This is a terrific addition to our coaching education programs.”
“I am excited that the Pittsburgh Penguins are investing in FlexxCoach for the coaches of our region,” said Mike Bagnato, coaches liaison for the Pennsylvania Interscholastic Hockey League (PIHL). “As a current user of FlexxCoach, I realize the benefit that this program can be to a coach. The Penguins should be congratulated and thanked for their generosity.”
