Penguins Open Preseason September 22 Against Detroit at CONSOL Energy Center

The Pittsburgh Penguins will open the 2014 preseason on Monday, September 22 when they host the Detroit Red Wings at 7 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center in a game that will be broadcast locally on Pittsburgh’s CW (WPCW).

The Penguins play their second preseason home game on Thursday, September 25 against the Minnesota Wild at 7 p.m.

On Saturday, September 27, the Penguins will hold the fifth annual ‘Free Game for Kids’ when they play the Columbus Blue Jackets at 4 p.m. That game will also be broadcast on Pittsburgh’s CW.

Pittsburgh’s first road preseason game is Tuesday, September 23 against the team the Penguins defeated in the opening round of the 2014 playoffs, the Columbus Blue Jackets, at 7 p.m. at Nationwide Arena.

The Penguins will conclude their 2014 preseason slate with back-to-back road games on Monday, September 29 at 8 p.m. at Minnesota and Wednesday, October 1 at 7:30 p.m. at Detroit. Both games will be broadcast on ROOT SPORTS.

All six Penguins preseason games can be heard on the team’s flagship radio station, 105.9 The X.
