The Pittsburgh Penguins have named Teena Murray as Senior Vice President of Integrated Performance, it was announced today by general manager Ron Hextall.
In her new role, Murray will oversee the hockey operations' strength and conditioning staff, rehabilitation, sports science and medical staff. She will report directly to Hextall.

A native of Shawville, Quebec, Murray has spent the past four seasons with the Sacramento Kings of the NBA, where she served as the team's vice president of health and performance. With the Kings, Murray led a growing interdisciplinary high-performance team including strength and conditioning, analytics, performance medicine, mental health, performance psychology, and performance nutrition.
Murray has over 25 years of experience working with professional and collegiate teams. Prior to her time in Sacramento, Murray spent 14 years in college athletics at the University of Louisville (2004-18) as the director of sports performance, where she built an NCAA-leading high-performance sport program that served 21 Division I Top-25 sports.
She has also worked as either a strength and conditioning coach or consultant for various teams/organizations throughout her professional career, including the Turkish Basketball Federation (2018), Anaheim Ducks (2002-04), Hartford Wolfpack (2001-03), University of Connecticut (2000-04), Cornell University (1997-00) and the Florida Panthers (1996-97). Murray won two IIHF World Championship gold medals, as well as a silver medal at the 2010 Olympic Games with Team USA, where she served as the Director of Performance for the U.S. Women's National and Olympic hockey teams from 2006-10.
Murray holds undergraduate degrees in kinesiology and education, a master's degree in exercise physiology and sports nutrition, and has completed an executive leadership program at Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
