Pryor, 30, will oversee Pittsburgh's amateur scouting efforts in both North America and Europe. He and his staff will report to assistant general manager Patrik Allvin. Allvin served as the Penguins' most recent director of amateur scouting from 2017-20 before being promoted to assistant general manager.
The St. Paul, Minnesota native joins the Penguins organization after spending the last eight seasons with the Philadelphia Flyers as an amateur scout from 2013-21.
Pryor, the son of Pittsburgh's director of player personnel Chris Pryor, was drafted by the Anaheim Ducks in the seventh round (208th overall) of the 2008 NHL Draft. He played four seasons of collegiate hockey at the University of Maine from 2009-13 after playing in the USHL (2008-09) and for the United States National Team Development Program (2006-08). Pryor also played high school hockey at Hill-Murray School in Minnesota, the same school Penguins forward Jake Guentzel played for.
