On Jan. 18, the Pittsburgh Penguins hosted their annual Make-A-Wish Children’s Party. This year’s event marked the 20th anniversary of the party, which gives Wish children and their families an opportunity to spend a day at the Mellon Arena.
Twenty-five children were invited to watch the team practice and were then treated to lunch at The Igloo Club. After practice, the team joined in and mingled with the children and families. Excitement only grew as Sidney Crosby and Mario Lemieux entered the room, even parents were eager to meet the players and get autographs.
The team visited with each child individually, posing for pictures and talking to the families. Each Make-A-Wish child was also given a goodie bag filled with Penguins memorabilia. The event was a success, as children and players all left with smiles on their faces.
