Penguins Launch New Marketing Campaign: 'Destiny Has a New Home'

With the start of training camp at the sparkling new CONSOL Energy Center, the Pittsburgh Penguins launched their marketing campaign for the 2010-11 season: “Destiny Has A New Home.”
“We wanted to create a campaign that captures both the promise of our team and the excitement of our new arena – with the anticipation of great things to come,” said James Santilli, the Penguins’ vice president of marketing.
The campaign includes television advertising, digital billboards, street banners, social media, print and radio. It was created in conjunction with the Pittsburgh-based advertising firm GatesmanMarmionDrake+Dave, Inc.
“They brought some great creative energy to help us develop a message that we think will resonate with our fans,” Santilli said. “There is a great sense of optimism about our city, our team and CONSOL Energy Center, and we think the campaign reflects that.”
Penguins officials also noted that the fan-favorite adage “A Great Day For Hockey” will remain at the foundation of the team’s brand and be visible in marketing initiatives.
