Morning Skate Buzz
The Penguins aren't expecting any changes in their lineup tonight from their previous game, a 3-2 banner-raising, home-opening victory over the New York Rangers just 24 hours ago. Pittsburgh had a full compliment of players participate in the morning skate for the second installment of back-to-back games.

The line combinations and defensive pairings at Saturday's morning skate were:

Marc-Andre Fleury is expected to start for Pittsburgh

One interesting note from the morning skate was Pascal Dupuis' shot that broke a pane of glass at Nasseu Coliseum.

The Islanders are being introduced to the home crowd.

Rookie No. 1 overall selection John Tavares draws a huge ovation.

Sidney Crosby and Brendan Witt participate in a ceremonial puck-drop.

FIRST PERIOD

20:00:
The puck is dropped.

19:05: John Tavares touches the puck for the first time in the National Hockey League.

16:16: The Islanders Matt Moulson heads to the penalty box for interference.

14:16: The Islanders kill the penalty. Both teams are at full strength.

13:35: The Islanders jumbotron congratulate Bill Guerin on winning the Stanley Cup. Class move.

13:35: Jay McKee heads to the penalty box two minutes for holding.

12:30: Marc-Andre Fleury robs Moulson from point-blank range.

11:35: The Penguins kill McKee's penalty.

11:10: Crosby takes a leap pass from Ruslan Fedotenko and deposits the puck between the legs of Dwayne Roloson for his second goal of the season. Penguins 1, Islanders 0.

10:28: Mike Rupp squares off with the Islanders Tim Jackman. Both receive five minutes for fighting.

8:26: McKee jumps Witt and the two drop the gloves after McKee takes exception to Witt's hit on Fedotenko at the Islanders' blue line.

8:26: The Islanders get a 5-on-3 power play after McKee is given an extra two minutes for instigating and Evgeni Malkin is penalized for interference.

7:20: The Islanders tie the score on a goal by defenseman Mark Streit. Tavares picks up his first NHL point with the secondary assist. Penguins 1, Islanders 1.

6:26:
The Penguins kill the second penalty and both teams are back to full strength.

0:00: The period ends with the scored tied, 1-1. New York had the advantage in shots, 9-6.

SECOND PERIOD

20:00:
Play resumes with the Penguins winning the opening faceoff.

19:08: Mark Eaton makes a great recovery to deny a toe-drag move by the Islanders Kyle Okposo.

16:21: Rupp and Eric Godard are again at the forefront of pushing and shoving after the whistle in front of the Islanders bench.

13:14: The Islanders go back on the power play for the fourth time as Mark Eaton is penalized two minutes for hooking.

12:51: Tavares puts a backhand over Fleury's shoulder for his first NHL goal. Islanders 2, Penguins 1.

12:25:
Streit heads to the box two minutes for tripping Bill Guerin.

10:23: Fleury robs Tavares with an outstanding glove save as the rookie broke in on the breakaway.

4:28: Kris Letang lays a great hit into Trent Hunter behind the Penguins' net.

3:29: Roloson robs Guerin on a one-timer after a setup by Chris Kunitz.

0:00: The second period ends with the Islanders leading, 2-1. Pittsburgh outshot the Islanders 14-12 in the second period.

THIRD PERIOD

20:00:
Play begins in the third period.

19:07: The Penguins get their third power play when Richard Park goes off for tripping.

17:07: The Islanders kill the penalty despite intense pressure from the Penguins.

13:48: Roloson stones Brooks Orpik in front of the Islanders net.

12:45: The Penguins have three more quality scoring chances in the Islanders end but Roloson again denies them as Pittsburgh continues to dominate the third period.

12:41: Crosby cleanly wins a faceoff, Letang then sets up Eaton for the one-timer and Eaton's goal through a screen ties the game. Penguins 2, Islanders 2.

12:24:
The Islanders Trent Hunter gives New York the lead back when his one-timer beats Fleury. Josh Bailey set him up. Islanders 3, Penguins 2.

9:21:
Crosby's assist on Eaton's goal was his 400th career point. He became the sixth-fastest player to reach that mark.

8:45: Fleury makes a nice shoulder save on a sneaky shot by a streaking Okposo.

8:17: Rupp takes a seat two minutes for holding the stick.

6:17: The Penguins kill the Islanders fifth power-play attempt as Rupp returns to the ice.

3:49: Fedotenko ties the game for the Penguins. He lifted the puck over Hunter, laying in the crease for a sprawled Roloson. Penguins 3, Islanders 3.

2:39:
Guerin heads to the box for slashing.

0:39: The Penguins kill the penalty to Guerin.

0:00: The third period ends with the two teams tied, 3-3. The game heads to overtime.

OVERTIME

5:00:
Play begins in the Penguins' first overtime game of the season.

3:32: Fleury again denies Moulson on a one-timer from the left of Fleury's net.

0:00: The Penguins threaten several times in the last 20 seconds but the game heads to a shootout.

SHOOTOUT

Islanders First Shot:
Steve Tambellini misses the net.

Penguins First Shot: Kris Letang scores through the five-hole.

Islanders Second Shot: John Tavares misses the net.

Penguins Second Shot: Sidney Crosby scores to win the shootout for the Penguins, 2-0. Final score, Penguins 4, Islanders 3.
