Pittsburgh Penguins forward Dominik Simon is recovering from successful shoulder surgery, it was announced today by general manager and executive vice president Jim Rutherford.

Simon, 25, suffered the injury on February 29 in a game against the San Jose Sharks. He underwent successful surgery on April 29 to repair a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The surgery was performed by team physician, Dr. Dharmesh Vyas, at UPMC Montefiore in Pittsburgh.

The forward is expected to be sidelined for six to seven months.
