Penguins Forward Mike Comrie Undergoes Successful Hip Surgery

Penguins forward Mike Comrie underwent successful hip surgery and is expected to be sidelined for three-four months. The surgery was performed in Vail, Colorado by Dr. Marc Philippon.
Comrie had been in-and-out of the lineup since suffering the hip injury on Oct. 9 during the second game of the season against the Montreal Canadiens. He has missed the past 15 games due to the injury and was placed on injured reserve Dec. 10.
The 5-10, 185-pound native of Edmonton, Alberta signed with the Penguins as a free agent on September 3, 2010.
