Penguins Follow Fan SuggestionsFor CONSOL Energy Center Enhancements

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins
CONSOL Energy Center was voted the Best NHL Arena last season by readers of the Sports Business Journal and was a finalist for Facility of the Year at the 2011 Sports Business Awards – but there is always room for improvement.

Accordingly, the Penguins have listened to a number of suggestions from their fans and made the following enhancements for the 2011-12 season, which opens Tuesday, when the Penguins host the Florida Panthers at 7:30 p.m.:
  • Tempered glass replacing the railing in the upper seating bowl
  • Additional drink rails throughout the arena
  • New menu items including hot pastrami on pretzel roll, special souvenir soda with one free refill and specially priced kids menu
  • An all new Burger + Shake Stand serving fresh 8oz all natural beef burgers and ridiculously thick craft made shakes from one of Pittsburgh’s most acclaimed new restaurants – Burgatory
  • Expanded merchandise including the Penguins new alternate jersey, more player related items and motivational apparel from CRONS
  • TGI Fridays restaurant located on 5th Avenue open for event spectators and for non-event dining
  • Penguins Post-Game Radio Show from the Lexus Club
  • Ticket+ loaded-value ticketing
  • CONSOL Energy Center tours Presented by Bayer Material Science
  • NHL Game Center Live in all suites

“Listening to fan feedback is a very important part of the way we do business,” said David Peart, the Penguins’ Senior VP of Sales and Service. “We appreciate the suggestions given to us by our fans over the past 12 months and we have used that valuable feedback as we continue to work to make CONSOL Energy Center the best venue in North America and provide the best possible experience for Penguins games and many other events.”
