Pittsburgh Penguins forward Evgeni Malkin does not need surgery on his injured left elbow and is not expected to miss any playing time next season.
General manager Jim Rutherford told reporters after the Penguins won the Stanley Cup that there was a 50-50 chance Malkin would need Tommy John surgery to repair damaged ligaments. Instead, Malkin will work to rehabilitate the elbow during the summer.
