Penguins' 2018 NHL Draft Picks

| Round | Overall | | --- | --- | | 2 | 53 | | 3 | 64 (from Ottawa in the Derick Brassard trade) | | 5 | 129 (from Detroit in the Riley Sheahan trade) | | 5 | 146 | | 6 | 177 | | 7 | 208 |
The Penguins dealt their first-round pick (22nd overall) to the Ottawa Senators on Feb. 23 in the three-team trade where the Pens acquired Derick Brassard. Pittsburgh sent its own third-round pick (84thoverall) to the Detroit Red Wings as part of the Riley Sheahan trade. During the 2016-17 season, Pittsburgh traded its fourth-round pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for veteran defenseman Mark Streit, who added key depth to a blue line that was decimated by injuries during the final quarter of the Pens' 2017 championship run.
The Penguins also owned the 99th overall selection in the fourth round after acquiring it from Vancouver in the Derrick Pouliot trade. Pittsburgh later sent that choice to the Vegas Golden Knights (since flipped to Tampa Bay) in the three-team deal that included Ottawa.
