Penguins Own Six Selections in the 2018 NHL Draft on Friday and Saturday

This year's NHL Draft will take place this Friday and Saturday, June 22-23, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas. The Pittsburgh Penguins own six choices, beginning with their first pick, the 53rd-overall selection in the second round.
The Penguins will also select once in the third (64th overall), sixth (177th) and seventh round (208th), and twice in the fifth round (129th and 146th).

The first round of the 2018 NHL Draft will be broadcast on Friday night beginning at 7:30 PM ET on NBC Sports Network. NHL Network will provide coverage of rounds 2-7 on Saturday morning, beginning at 11:00 AM ET.

The Penguins dealt their first-round pick (22nd overall) to the Ottawa Senators on Feb. 23 in the three-team trade where the Pens acquired Derick Brassard. Pittsburgh sent its own third-round pick (84thoverall) to the Detroit Red Wings as part of the Riley Sheahan trade. During the 2016-17 season, Pittsburgh traded its fourth-round pick to the Tampa Bay Lightning in exchange for veteran defenseman Mark Streit, who added key depth to a blue line that was decimated by injuries during the final quarter of the Pens' 2017 championship run.
The Penguins also owned the 99th overall selection in the fourth round after acquiring it from Vancouver in the Derrick Pouliot trade. Pittsburgh later sent that choice to the Vegas Golden Knights (since flipped to Tampa Bay) in the three-team deal that included Ottawa.
