Three more teams are headed to the 84 Lumber PIHL Penguins Cup Class AA championship game with semifinal victories – Franklin Regional, Bethel Park and Quaker Valley.
Franklin Regional 4, Bishop Canevin 2Eugene Mack scored two goals and added an assist to lead the Panthers. John Cecere had a goal and an assist, while Steve Shirk added a goal. John Miller, Chad White, Jared Yeska and Turner Andritz all had assists in the win.
Josh Daley had a goal and an assist for Bishop Canevin. Vince Nicolella scored a goal, while Cam Zappi, and Sean McNulty both had assists.
Bethel Park 3, Mt.Lebanon 2 3OT
Tom Whetsel banged in his own rebound 2:55 into the third overtime to lead Bethel Park to the upset victory.
Whetsel led the Blackhawks with a pair of goals. Matt Quigley had the other Bethel Park goal. Connor Wells, Nick Machi and Chris Mandia added assists.
Brooks Behling and Brandon Bianco scored for Mt. Lebanon, which tied the contest with 1:23 left in the third period on Bianco’s goal. Jon Wilen had two assists, while Mike Roman and Joe Gorham added helpers.
QuakerValley 6, Serra Catholic 5
Quaker Valley jumped to a 4-0 lead and then held on for the one-goal win.
Colin South had a hat trick and an assist for the Quakers. Robert Karvinen and Cody Scott had a goal and an assist, while Noah Zamagias and George Jackson had two assists. Aaron Kostial had a goal.
Erik Manetta scored two goals for Serra Catholic. Josh Werner had a goal and an assist. Jay Leppo scored a goal, while Joe Clark, Mike Puskar, Jarrett Ruchka, Bill Lesnak, Cory Bream and Tyler Urda all had assists.
