The Pittsburgh Penguins today announced a seven-game preseason schedule for 2006, including two home games at Mellon Arena.

The Penguins will open preseason competition with games in the Canadian Maritimes on Sept. 19 and 20. They will play the Ottawa Senators in Halifax, Nova Scotia on Tuesday, Sept. 19 and will meet the Philadelphia Flyers in Moncton, New Brunswick on Wednesday, Sept. 20.

The two games at Mellon Arena will be Friday Sept. 22 against the Washington Capitals and Friday, Sept. 29 against the Buffalo Sabres, with both games starting at 7:30 p.m.

The Penguins will play four of their preseason games in Canada, including Sat. Sept. 23 against Buffalo at Hamilton, Ont. and Sunday, Sept. 24 against Philadelphia at London, Ont.

Overall, the Penguins will play three games against Buffalo, two games against Philadelphia and one each against Ottawa and Washington in the 2006 preseason.
