Penguins Announce 2016-17 Preseason Schedule

The Pittsburgh Penguins will begin the 2016-17 preseason with back-to-back road games against the Detroit Red Wings (7:30 p.m.) and Chicago Blackhawks (8:30 p.m.) on September 27 and 28.
Pittsburgh will play its first home preseason game on Friday, September 30 against the Chicago Blackhawks at 7 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center.
The Penguins will also play home games against Detroit on Wednesday, October 5 at 7 p.m. at CONSOL Energy Center, and on Saturday, October 8 at 3 p.m. versus the Columbus Blue Jackets.
The October 8 matinee against Columbus will be the sixth annual ‘Free Game for Kids.’ All 18,000-plus tickets for that afternoon will again be distributed to local youth hockey teams and other youth organizations throughout the region.
Pittsburgh’s third road preseason game will be Sunday, October 2 at 4 p.m. against the Blue Jackets at Nationwide Arena.
Preseason television and radio information will be released at a later date.
