Penguins and FirstEnergy Solutions to Host Children’s Book Collection on March 9

by Staff Writer / Pittsburgh Penguins

The Pittsburgh Penguins and FirstEnergy Solutions will join forces to host the team’s fourth annual children’s book collection on Friday, March 9. All donations will benefit the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh.

Fans are encouraged to bring new or gently used children’s books to CONSOL Energy Center when the Penguins battle the Panthers at 7:00 p.m. The books will be distributed to the Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh for summer reading programs and to foster the love of reading in young people. Monetary donations are also welcome and will be used to purchase new books.

The Carnegie Library of Pittsburgh serves citizens of Allegheny County throughout 19 neighborhood locations. The library promotes literacy in the community and inspires a lifelong appreciation for learning.

The Penguins Wives Association and Booster Club will accept donations at the American Eagle, Trib Total Media, and Verizon Gates when doors open to the public until the puck drops. Fans who contribute will be eligible to win autographed Penguins memorabilia!
