The Murrysville Sportzone & Dek Hockey is proud to announce the ground breaking of their new facility. Set to open by the end of this year, the new facility will be one of the few premier inline and dek hockey rinks in the country.

This 30,000 square foot State-of-the-art facility will include stadium seating for 300 people, luxury boxes that seat 40 people, and a balcony. Not only will this facility be able to host inline and dek hockey, it will also serve as a multiuse rink for other actives such as soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Anything from indoor sports to concerts will be able to use the rink, and it will be great for the Murrysville community. The rink will feature a 175' x 75' playing surface along with glass boards for enhanced viewing. Inside the facility, there will also be a one-of-a-kind suspended play area that will rise above the grand entrance to the facility.

The Murrysville Sportzone & Dek Hockey has served as a family oriented business for many years and is a great place for those of any age. Containing only one outdoor dek rink right now, this new facility will be a big addition to the Sportzone. Murrysville Sportzone owners also have plans on expanding even further, under agreement to purchase the Valley Sports Complex. The facility contains two sheets of ice and will be named The Pittsburgh Ice Arena and the home of the Alain Lemieux Hockey Academy. Alain Lemieux, former NHL player and brother of Mario Lemieux, will host inline, dek, and ice hockey camps at both locations. (Murrysville Sportzone & Dek Hockey and the Pittsburgh Ice Arena)

The groundbreaking event for this new facility had a tremendous turn out and was a great way to celebrate what is yet to come. Murrysville Mayor Bob Brooks attended the event and claimed, “This is the best thing that’s happening to Murrysville.” With the construction starting soon, there’s no doubt that this is an exciting time for the Murrysville Sportzone & Dek Hockey.
