McDavid, Eichel, Murray, 4 Pittsburgh Players Lead World Cup of Hockey Rosters For North America-Czech Republic Game at CONSOL

Some of the best young hockey players in the world – led by Connor McDavid of the Edmonton Oilers, Jack Eichel of the Buffalo Sabres, Matt Murray of the Penguins and 2016 No. 1 overall draft pick Auston Matthews of the Toronto Maple Leafs – will be on display Wednesday, September 14 at CONSOL Energy Center when Team North America takes on Team Czech Republic in a World Cup of Hockey pre-tournament game at 3:30 p.m.

Team Canada will face Team Russia at 7:30.

“Team North America” is made up of the best players under the age of 24 from the U.S. and Canada. The roster also features four local players who came up through the Pittsburgh youth hockey system – Brandon Saad (Columbus Blue Jackets), John Gibson (Anaheim Ducks), J.T. Miller (NY Rangers) and Vince Trocheck (Florida Panthers).

In the second game, Sidney Crosby, Jonathan Toews, Steven Stamkos and other NHL stars will lead Team Canada against Evgeni Malkin, Alexander Ovechkin, Pavel Datsyuk and Team Russia.
